“There is nothing so American as our national parks.”
—President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Radio Address from Glacier National Park, August 5, 1934
America’s National Park System is world-renowned. But it is not complete. Less than 2% of the lower 48 states is preserved in national parks — and most of this is west of the Great Plains. Hundreds of additional areas could qualify as new parks. Most are seriously threatened by development pressures.
New National Parks is working to save these areas by adding them to our National Park System. We hope you will join us in this bold campaign!
